Creative Chefs - Learning Creating Healthy Fun

Inspire your Children

Cooking with young children is extremely rewarding for both child and adult, alike. You can start simply by just touching, tasting and talking about the ingredients. Be enthusiastic and excited at the new discoveries you both make. You can then move on to chopping and weighing  which helps develop their fine motor and number skills.

Keep them Interested

Once you move on from the basics of taste, touch smell etc you can move on to more involved processes, like making a recipe. You can start with a simple recipe such as the Rainbow Pasta Pot. After the basics have been grasped help your child move onto harder recipes, such as Cheese & Veg Muffins which can have in their lunchbox. Eventually you could try Porkie Pie which can be served as a lunch or evening meal!

I Can't Cook

Don’t worry! You can still inspire your child to learn about healthy eating and have fun along the way. Start simply by just talking about fruit and vegetables, tasting, smelling and touching them. Then move on to some of the very basic recipes, for example, the Rainbow Pasta Pot and Burrito Bowl. As you work through the basic recipes your confidence will grow and you’ll find you’re happy to take on recipes you would never have dreamed of!
